Garden Sink DIY

S
o I really need an outdoor sink to wash vegetables pulled from the garden. Washing dirty carrots and greens in the kitchen makes too much of a mess.  Online galvanized tub sinks are $200 minimum!  Um no 🙄. So I said let me Unlicensed Engineer one...
*(I purchased all items and have no affiliation with Amazon or Walmart)

First I ordered this....Washtub Beverage Holder from Amazon. I actually got it cheaper because I chose an Openbox one from Amazon Warehouse.

Then I ordered this sink drain assembly from Amazon.

I asked a friend of mine who is a welder to increase the hole that comes in the bottom of the tub to 3 1/2 inches in diameter to fit the drain. Once the hole was made I simply followed the instructions and assembled the drain.

Everything came together great! I found a good spot outside on the patio and reassembled the tub with its stand. Since I already had a splitter connected to my outside faucet all I had to do was add an additional hose, and thread the garden hose through one of the handles, and then attach the sprayer. It stayed in place pretty well that way.

I grabbed a 5-gallon bucket from Walmart and put it under the drain to catch wastewater. So that I can reuse the water from the bucket in the garden I'll use Dr. Bronners Pepermint soap because it's not harmful to plants.

Now I have a Great Outdoor Sink to wash vegetables, which was way cheaper to make than buying a premade one.

If you have a friend that can cut metal... This is a great project to try.

Knowing myself, I will probably get another hose sprayer that matches the red in the sink, but for now, it works.
